Bladen County murder suspect taken into custody

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect in a murder that happened last month.

The sheriff’s office says Samir Register, 20, was found shot on the side of the road just last month at a local trail riding event in Tar Heel.

Detectives claim Elijah Dixon, 19, of Clinton is responsible for the homicide.

He was arrested yesterday by Raleigh police during a traffic stop and is being held at the Wake County Detention Center on felony drug charges.

The sheriff’s office says Dixon will soon be sent to Bladen County, where he will be charged with first-degree murder.
