Bladen County Sheriff’s Office holds first-ever employee awards ceremony
BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A first-ever Employee of the Year Ceremony took place to honor the lives of those who work to keep people in the community safe every day.
Wednesday’s inaugural award ceremony at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office highlighted a job well done for about a dozen sheriff’s office employees.
Honors included Life Saving and Employee of the Year Awards. Nominees received plaques and their family members who attended were recognized as well.
Detective Trent Lewis said the recognition can have a positive impact on all at the sheriff’s office. He said he hopes this will become a yearly tradition.
“It’s a morale booster for the office. It’s just something that uplifts everybody’s spirits, something to give us to work towards to,” Lewis said.
Tracy Hatcher, who received Administrative Assistant of the Year, and Aspen Batten, who received Telecommunicator of the Year, both said it was nice to be recognized for jobs that oftentimes go overlooked.
Brenda Thompson was also recognized as the Detention Officer of the Year.
