Blake Taylor captures CPGA Junior Championship title in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WWAY) — Earlier this month on WWAY we featured 17-year-old Blake Taylor while he was competing in the NC Men’s Amateur Golf Championship at the Country Club of Landfall. Taylor did not win that event, but the Atkinson resident and rising Wilmington Christian Academy senior was able to capture first place over the weekend at the Carolinas PGA Junior Championship in Myrtle Beach.

Blake Taylor shot back to back 68’s to claim the prestigious title by one stroke. With the victory he earns a berth in the National Junior PGA Championship in Texas in early August.
