Boat capsizes sending one to the hospital

HOLDEN BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Coast Guard says one person went to the hospital after a boat capsized in Lockwood Folly Inlet near Holden Beach this morning.

The Coast Guard arrived on scene around 8:30 a.m. after a good Samaritan reported a disabled vessel at anchor capsized in the inlet.

The Coast Guard says it rescued four of the five people from the boat. A beach patrol boat rescued the fifth boater and transferred him to the Coast Guard.

EMS took one man to Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport with a leg injury. The Coast Guard says he is in stable condition. The other boaters were OK.
