Boil water advisory issued for parts of Columbus County

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Due to emergency repairs to the public water supply system, a boil water advisory has been issued for customers within Columbus County Water and Sewer District II.

According to a press release, The areas affected include all customers from 1393 Chadbourn Highway to 2350 Chadbourn Highway, and Fruit Ridge Road.

Due to the repair of the water main line break, the flow of water will be reversed throughout the system and customers may experience water quality issues such as discolored water.

The system should be clear within the next 24 hours. It is recommended that water used for consumption should be boiled during the next 24 hours.
