Boiling Spring Lakes commissioners approve $3 million contract for Pine Lake Dam project

BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — Boiling Spring Lakes leaders approved a revised $3 million contract Thursday for the ongoing Pine Lake dam construction project.

The city’s board of commissioners voted unanimously during a special meeting to move forward with the updated agreement, citing rising costs since construction began.

The project was originally budgeted at just over $2 million but has faced delays tied to design and engineering challenges.

City officials said the updated contract reflects those increased costs as work continues on the dam.

Commissioners also said residents will have an opportunity to provide input on the project at a later date.
