Bojangles’ honors law enforcement following vulgar biscuit mishap
RICHLANDS, NC (WWAY) — After a deputy received a Bojangles’ Bo-Berry biscuit at an Onslow County restaurant with a profane icing design, the restaurant is now serving heart-shaped biscuits to show support for the men and women in blue.
Jones County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Daniel Pridgen said he was grabbing a bite to eat at Bojangles’ in Richlands when things took a turn for the worse on Monday.
Pridgen said he was waiting for his food for 25 minutes while in uniform, but it wasn’t his food getting cold that heated Pridgen. It was what was written in icing on his Bo-Berry Biscuit.
One of the two biscuits Pridgen ordered had the letters “F U” written in icing, according to Pridgen. He said he didn’t notice until he got home.
Pridgen posted the photo to Facebook and it quickly gained steam on social media as outrage built.
The restaurant has responded by making Bo-Berry Biscuit in the shape of a heart with blue icing drizzled over them. The Bojangles has also raised a blue line flag out front.
“The incident from last night was handled accordingly by management personnel. Bojangles’ and Tands inc. have done an admirable job handling the situation expeditiously,” Prigden said. “Their due diligence is greatly appreciated. Thank you.”
Bojangles has apologized and fired the employee who served it.
