SHALLOTTE, N.C. (WWAY) — A Wednesday night boys soccer match went the way of the home side as West Brunswick took down Whiteville 2-0.

The game was scoreless at halftime. Prior to that, the Trojans had many quality shots on goal that were saved by the Wolfpack’s Trey Greene.

Less than 90 seconds out of the break, a Samuel Sellers free kick ended up with Eduardo Bonifacio in the box, who then shot from point blank range to break the ice. He would score again about a minute later.

“We were just trying to clean it up,” Bonifacio said. “We know we could play better. We just tried to come out hotter and put more pressure on them. I think it went up for a bit, but then we went back down for a little. Which explains why it was only 2-0. I think if we stayed at that level, it could have been a lot more. If we just stayed at that level the entire game, we could have made it nine.”
