At the college’s basketball game, the Stanley’s handed over a check for $72,000 — a significant increase from their previous donation of $50,000.
The Stanley’s are no strangers to giving back to their community. Over the past year, they’ve raised the funds by asking people from all walks of life to contribute just a little something.
Moe Stanley, who has been a part of the basketball community for more than 20 years, shared one of the biggest takeaways from their efforts:
“The names change each year, but the situations remain the same. We see kids coming in from various backgrounds. Our goal is: somebody helped us, we remember that. And hopefully, by helping them and being role models, it will inspire them to go and help somebody else.”
Thanks to the community’s support, the brothers surpassed their last donation goal, raising $72,000 to help local students and athletes at Brunswick County Community College.
