Brown drops 30 as New Hanover knocks off North Brunswick 71-59

LELAND, N.C. (WWAY) — New Hanover boys basketball’s conference winning streak is still intact as the Wildcats picked up a 71-59 road win against North Brunswick on Tuesday.
Senior Kellum Brown led the way for the reigning state finalists by dropping 30 points against a Scorpions team that had the Carolina Coast’s best overall record coming into the game.
“It’s a great feeling,” Brown said. “We just want to start where we left off last year. We’re 68-0, we’re trying to keep the streak going. We lost a couple seniors, but just trying to keep it going. We got a good group to do it and we got a great leader in coach Angel to lead us through everything. This is a tough environment. It’d been tough for a long time. Coach Angel told you what we were getting into, but we just stuck together and we played together. That’s what led us to a win tonight.”
