Brunswick Beer Exchange getting ready to rock out to raise money for autism

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Music, beer, and vendors are coming together for an extraordinary weekend event.

Brunswick Beer Exchange is holding its first-ever “Rock the Spectrum” musical showcase this Sunday, April 14th, to raise money for the Autism Society of North Carolina.

7 musicians, 6 vendors, and 2 food trucks will be at the event, which lasts from 1 pm to 8 pm.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle and prize giveaways.

Donna Ruggiero is the owner of the Beer Exchange.

She said a musician who performs at the Exchange suggested helping the Autism Society, an idea that also means a lot to her.

“And because I have family members that have autistic children and friends,” Ruggiero said. “And I know several autistic adults or people that are on the spectrum, I thought what better way to give back to the community than host an event that we can reach so many people.”

Ruggiero said she and her husband are already planning for next year’s event, which they hope is bigger and better.
