Brunswick Co. beaches among most expensive housing in NC


BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Living at the beach comes with a price. In some Brunswick County beach towns it comes with some of the highest prices in the state.

The Coldwell Banker Home Listing Report (HLR) released today ranks Holden Beach as the most expensive market in North Carolina with an average home price of $473,036. Chapel Hill ($452,981), Ocean Isle Beach ($395,705), Cary ($389,885) and Oak Island ($376,338) round out the top five. Another Brunswick County beach town, Sunset Beach, is 8th with an average price of $350,665.

The list, which ranked 2,000 markets across the country, is based on the affordability of the average list price of four-bedroom, two bathroom homes. The report found that the average price for a house like that in North Carolina is $250,569.
