Brunswick Co. Commission reviews Parks and Rec. Strategic Plan
The Brunswick County Commission is set to discuss the Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan.
Aaron Perkins, Parks and Recreation director, says after renovations on Town Creek Park wrapped up, it’s on to the other parks in the county.
He says they made a list of the parks that have the most need for renovations and expansions. He says safety, ADA compliance and just plain updating needs to be addressed.
Smithville Park, Shallotte Park and Ocean Isle Beach Park are at the top of the list when it comes to the need for renovations and expansion. The estimated cost to renovate those three parks is between $4 and $4.5 million each.
