Brunswick Co. settles jail TB case
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A former inmate who claims he got tuberculosis at the Brunswick County jail has settled with the county for a lump sum.
Floyd Baldwin was in jail in 2008 when he says he contracted TB. He settled with the county in January to receive $2,250 rather than pursue his pending lawsuit.
Brunswick County Attorney Huey Marshall said paying the settlement was a less expensive decision for the county.
