Brunswick Co. Sheriff’s Office employee facing DWI, Hit-and-Run charges

BRUNWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office employee is temporarily off the job, pending the results of an investigation.
According to the N.C. Highway Patrol, 49-year-old Larry David Price, of Southport, is facing charges that stemmed from an accident that happened in Brunswick County last weekend.
The report states that on November 9th, the NCHP responded to a hit-and-run collision in the parking lot of 4961 Long Beach Rd in Southport.
An SUV, allegedly driven by Price, backed into another SUV, and left the scene.
Troopers were able to identify the vehicle and home address, and located the vehicle and Price.
Price was arrested and transported to the Brunswick County Jail where he was charged with Misdemeanor Hit-and-Run and Driving While Impaired.
According to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office employment records, Price has been employed by BCSO since September of 2001 and is a Sergeant in its Detention Center Operations staff.
