Brunswick Co. Sheriff’s Office warns of possible attempted kidnapping

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a possible attempted kidnapping in the Jackey’s Creek area of Belville.

Detectives say around 3:45 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was riding his skateboard down Jackey’s Creek Lane when a stranger grabbed him by the shirt. The boy was able to break free and joined a woman walking her dog. The man ran toward Kingsworth Lane and then left the area.

The man is described as a white male, possibly 60 years of age, approximately 5’8″-5’10” tall, thin build, gray or blackish hair (possibly spiked), wearing a gray tee shirt and black pants. He was possibly driving a 5- to 10-year-old model BMW, black, with dark tinted windows. He is not believed to be a resident of the Jackey’s Creek area.

If you see someone matching that description or see anything suspicious, detectives ask that you call 911 so a deputy can be dispatched to the area.
