Brunswick Community College announces four leadership changes

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick Community College (BCC) president Gene Smith announced four leadership changes recognizing their service and impact.

Carmen Ellis will be named Vice President of Student Services, Santresa Fulford will be Associate Vice President for Budget and Finance, Onya Gardner is the new Associate Vice President of Continuing Education and Workforce Development, and Julia Stuart is now the Associate Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives.

“These leaders represent the very best of Brunswick Community College,” said Dr. Smith. “Each of them has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student success, operational excellence, and the long-term strength of this institution. Their leadership has already shaped the lives of countless students, and I am excited to see the continued positive impact they will make in these new roles.”

According to the press release, Ellis has advanced through multiple roles within Student Services for over 17 years. Fulford joined the College’s Business Office in 2010 and later advanced to Director of Fiscal Services in 2020 before accepting this new role. Brunswick County native Gardner started at BCC in 2007 and held numerous roles including Dean. Stuart joined BCC in 2021 as Director of Marketing and Public Relations.
