SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Democratic Party is hosting its third “No Kings” protest on Saturday, March 28 from 1:30-3 p.m. at Main Street and Smith Avenue in Shallotte.

“We’re expecting a large turnout given that close to 2,000 concerned citizens joined us last fall to peacefully voice their strong opposition to the policies of the Trump Administration,” said Shelley Allen, chair of the Brunswick County Democratic Party.

Allen said thousands of rallies and protests are planned for March 28 across the nation and beyond.

The Brunswick County Democratic Party said the protest in Shallotte will be standing only, with sidewalks around the intersection providing space for participants.

Organizers said they have obtained a permit for the rally, and the Shallotte Police Department will be present to provide security.

“All like-minded members of the public are invited to join us,” Allen said.
