Brunswick County holds rabies clinics

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Heavy rains didn’t prevent cats and dogs from getting rabies vaccinations Saturday in Brunswick County.

Animal Protective Services and the Brunswick County Health Department teamed up to hold rabies clinics across the county at six different locations.

“It protects animals from wild animals that do have rabies, and it also protects the humans once they come in contact with the pets,” said Ofc. Dennis Harpster of Animal Protective Services.

According to North Carolina law, all dogs and cats four months of age and older must have a rabies vaccination.

Vaccinations were $6. The county holds these clinics twice a year.
