Brunswick County man facing firearm and drug charges

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington police say a Brunswick County man is facing gun and drug charges.

Just after midnight Monday morning, police were responding to a reported hit and run, and possible road rage incident. Police found a damaged jeep in the 800 block of Emory Street.

During a traffic stop, police found marijuana and a gun inside the jeep.

Dennis Beatty, 41, has been charged with has been charged with Possession of Firearm by a Felon, PWIMSD Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and Felony Maintain Vehicle/Dwelling Controlled Substance. He being held on a $2500 secured bond.
