Brunswick County man sentenced to at least 15 years in prison for child sex charges

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man pled guilty to 3 counts of statutory rape of a child and 3 counts of statutory sex offense with a child last week.

Special Superior Court Judge Quinton McGee sentenced the Alejandro Herrera-Mejia to at least 15 years months in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction followed by 5 years supervised probation.

The Herrera-Mejia is required to register as a sex offender.
