Brunswick County newlyweds win $200,000 lottery prize

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A recently married couple in Leland won the $200,000 top prize in a new $5 scratch-off game.

Jake Mauceri of Leland and his wife plan to use their winning for a honeymoon in Aruba. They also plan to pay bill and invest some of their winnings.

Mauceri said he and his wife got married three months ago and just moved to North Carolina two months ago.

Mauceri bought the lucky Cash King ticket from Minuteman Food Mart on Mercantile Drive in Leland.

On Friday, they claimed their prize at lottery headquarters and after taxes, they took home $144,021.

The Cash King game debuted this week with four $200,000 top prizes. Three $200,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
