Brunswick County Schools change final day schedule

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — School will soon be out for summer, but in Brunswick County, there’s a change in schedule for the last day of school.

That final day Wednesday is an early-release day for all Brunswick County students. But because the state testing window requires the administration of high school exams during the last five days of the semester, the district has announced the following updated dismissal schedule:

Elementary schools dismiss at 11:45 a.m.
Middle schools dismiss at 12:45 p.m.
High schools dismiss at 1 p.m.

Because this is a change to the normal early-release schedule, the district says parents of elementary students should plan accordingly for the earlier release.
