BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County Schools announced on Friday that Adam Stanley was hired to serve as the district’s School Safety and Risk Management Coordinator.

Stanley will start the role in February after serving 30 years in law enforcement. He previously led the School Resource Officer Division at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office. From there, he served as the Chief of Police for the Town of Shallotte.

The school district said, “His experience in school safety, emergency preparedness, and interagency coordination will support Brunswick County Schools’ ongoing commitment to secure, welcoming learning environments for students and staff.”

Stanley will coordinate districtwide safety planning and training, collaborate with law-enforcement and emergency-response partners, guide school-level drills, support threat-assessment and crisis-response, and help align facilities practices with current safety standards.
