Brunswick County schools release weather make up days for students
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – The Brunswick County Board of Education has decided when students will make up the school days recently lost because of the rain and flooding.
Brunswick County students will now attend school for a full-day on Friday, December 18 and the last day of school, Wednesday, June 8 to account for the recent inclement weather.
These days had previously been designated early release days and will allow Brunswick County’s 180 school day/1025 instructional hour calendar to remain in compliance with state calendar law.
A Brunswick County school spokesperson says should additional weather closings and delays impact our area during the winter months, days currently designated as non-student days will have to be utilized for make-up.
