Brunswick County Schools to provide free to-go meals for children

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Beginning Thursday, September 19, 2024, Brunswick County Schools will offer free to-go meals for children 18 and under on weekdays until normal district operations resume.

Each meal will include lunch and a breakfast item for the following morning. You can pick up your child’s meal from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at the following schools:
-North Brunswick High School
-South Brunswick High School
-Belville Elementary School
-Bolivia Elementary School
-Union Elementary School
-Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School
-West Brunswick High School
-Shallotte Middle School
-Lincoln Elementary School
-Supply Elementary School
-Waccamaw School
Brunswick County Schools is closed for students for the remainder of the week. Though the district says school buildings sustained minimal damage from the storm, many roads across the county have suffered significant damage, and flooding remains a concern.
Brunswick County Schools will operate using asynchronous remote learning from September 23rd to September 27th.  Asynchronous remote learning is defined by the teacher and the students in the class all engaging with the course content at different times and from different locations.
