Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K9 team apprehends domestic violence suspect

SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — On Saturday, Deputy J. Smith and his K9 partner, Oti, with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office tracked and safely apprehended a domestic violence suspect.

The duo responded to the incident on Bistrow Road. The suspect who had fled the scene has active warrants, so Oti was deployed to track him.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office said Oti followed the scent through a wooded area and located the suspect who was taken into custody without further incident.

The sheriff’s office adds that due to the teamwork a victim who is six months pregnant was protected.
