Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office responds to a submerged car in Supply

Supply, N.C. (WWAY) — Traffic on a busy road in Brunswick County is closed due to a vehicle submerged in water.

Highway 211 at the Lockwood Folly River Bridge is currently shut down in both directions.

According to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle is submerged in the area of 255 Southport Supply Road.

The driver has been pronounced dead at the scene.

As of 6 p.m. Monday, recovery crews are trying to get the vehicle and the body out of the water.
