SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — This week, N.C. 211 at Long Beach Road will require short overnight closures while a crane is used to set bridge girders over the highway.

The closures will last up to 30 minutes and occur periodically between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on April 9 and April 10.

Also, two of four lanes on N.C. 211 in this vicinity will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on these same two nights for the girder installations.

The girders are part of the new Long Beach Road bridge over N.C. 211 associated with a $217 million contract awarded in 2021 to widen 7.2 miles of N.C. 211 northwest of Southport.
