Brunswick County’s Markel Jones selected in MLB Draft

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Former West Brunswick High School Trojan Markel Jones has been selected in the 33rd round of the Major League Baseball Draft.

The Baltimore Orioles selected the centerfielder, who played for Brunswick Community College, today during the third and final day of the draft.

Jones originally signed with NC State, but transferred to Louisburg. He signed to play at Campbell earlier this spring.
