Brunswick Forest Parkway closed due to natural gas fire

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A natural gas fire has shut down Brunswick Forest Parkway near Leland.
The Town of Leland posted on Facebook a little after 11:00 a.m. that emergency crews were on scene near the water tower.
According to the Town of Leland, Brunswick Forest Parkway is shut down from the Low Country Boulevard traffic circle to Kay Todd Road. No homes are threatened and no evacuations are necessary at this time.
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Leland Police and Leland Fire have all responded.
The sheriff’s office said the fire is contained. Piedmont Natural Gas is on scene.
