Brunswick Nuclear Plant prepares for Hurricane Irma

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY)  — At Duke Energy’s Brunswick Nuclear Plant they are preparing for the storm.

The plant is preparing by maintaining a level of readiness and having emergency response at each facility.

Along with equipment and generators for backup power.

The communications consultant with the plant says they have enough equipment to deal with events that might go beyond the recorded history for our region.
