Burgaw mom’s Christmas Day made through generosity of Good Samaritans
BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — For Hannah Rouse, a single mom living in Burgaw, it was a struggle to be able to give her two daughters, Molly and Morgan, everything they wanted for Christmas this year.
That is until she found out someone had anonymously nominated Molly to have part of her wish list covered by parents from Burgaw Middle School.
‘It was really nice that somebody was offering to get her some extra stuff,” Rouse said. “So she had some, some new clothes. They got her really nice stuff too, some new clothes and they got her the books that she wanted and a pair of shoes that she really likes, actually. So, it was, it meant a lot.”
But Rouse said the holiday-giving spirit also continued on Monday after her car broke down.
She was unable to get Molly’s gifts from Burgaw Middle, so she asked on the Burgaw Community Facebook page for help and a good samaritan quickly came to her aid.
“Karen Harding answered and said she would just pick the presents up and bring them to my house, which was super, super nice of her. And she did, she did it very quickly too. I expected it sometime during the day but it was within like half an hour, she went and got them and brought them to our house.”
Rouse said the entire experience is what makes the holiday season so special.
