Burgaw preparing for annual Christmas parade
BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — The town of Burgaw putting the finishing touches on its preparations for its annual Christmas parade on Saturday evening.
The parade will start near Burgaw Middle School before moving down Wright Street and going around the courthouse.
More than 100 entries were received for the parade, including floats, a marching band, and a group of classic muscle cars.
Burgaw resident Tommy Bradshaw has driven his 1969 Chevy Camaro in the parade for years.
He said it’s special being a part of the parade.
“We’ll it’s pretty, pretty fun. I’ve been around so long that a lot of people recognize me, recognize the car and they look for it every year. So it’s pretty neat cruising through and everybody hollering at you,” Bradshaw said. “Burgaw obviously means a lot cause I haven’t left, I’ve been here all my life.”
The parade will start at 5:30 and will take about an hour to complete it’s route.
