Burgwin-Wright House to host special America 250th event, A Toast to Revolution

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – In celebration of the upcoming America 250th commemorations, the Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens will kick off the local festivities with a special event reflecting on the Cape Fear’s revolutionary history.

According to a press release, “A Toast to Revolution will raise a glass to all the events, big and small, that paved the way for the American Revolution in the Cape Fear, from the Stamp Act rebellion that rocked the colony in 1765-66, to the Wilmington Tea Party in the spring of 1775. As North Carolina and the nation start to reflect on the moments that forged our identity as a nation 250 years ago, A Toast to Revolution gives local residents the chance to get to know how their community played a role in igniting a revolution.”

The event will be on Thursday, March 20th at 6:00 p.m. in the in the Burgwin-Wright House gardens at 224 Market St.
