Burn ban issued by Town of Leland and Brunswick County

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Leland and Brunswick County issued a burn ban effective Saturday, May 3rd at 5 p.m. until further notice.
Burning within 100 feet of an occupied structure within Leland town limits and unincorporated areas is prohibited.
In a press release, the Town of Leland said the precaution is necessary as the town is currently experiencing moderate drought conditions and due to the impacts of the wildfire affecting Boiling Spring Lakes.
Until conditions improve, the burn ban will remain in effect. We will have updates as they emerge.
