Burn ban issued in Belville amid high fire risk

BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Belville has issued a town-wide burn ban effective Monday, March 30 at 3:30 p.m., citing elevated wildfire risk.
The action follows guidance from the North Carolina Forest Service, which has classified the region’s fire danger as “high” and implemented a statewide ban on open burning across all 100 counties.
In addition, Brunswick County has enacted a burn ban for all unincorporated areas. All previously issued burn permits through the Forest Service have been canceled.
Officials are urging residents to follow the restrictions and monitor the town’s official communication channels for updates as conditions evolve.
