Busy summer on the mound for Whiteville’s MacKenzie Gore

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — MacKenzie Gore is a rising senior at Whiteville High School. He’s committed to play college baseball at East Carolina. We recently had a chance to talk with Wolfpack head coach baseball coach Brett Harwood about Gore’s busy summer. The highlight of the summer will be Gore heading to San Diego in mid-August for the Perfect Game Classic at the home of the San Diego Padres, but that’s not his only big trip coming up. “He just got home from New York,” Brett Harwood said. “He’s on a routine during the week when he’s home throwing bullpen and staying sharp with conditioning and stuff. I think he leaves out next week and his next trip is to Tampa for East Coast Pro in early August. I know he pitches first in that showcase.”
