Cameron Art Museum partners with New Hanover County for art exhibit
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County is partnering with the Cameron Art Museum to bring an exhibit to the county government center.
The New Hanover County Government Center is located off South College Road, and the exhibit is up on the second floor.
The county unveiled the new exhibit today Thursday along with the Cameron Art Museum.
The “Home in the Cape Fear” exhibit includes a range of works from landscapes to modern art, all from local artists.
The pieces were curated from the museum’s collection of local artworks.
Heather Wilson is the director of the Cameron Art Museum. She said these pieces tell the story of our community.
“We know that cities and counties that thrive have art museums. They have thriving communities of people who seek to find our shared humanity and tell the stories of a community and of people through the language of art,” Wilson said.
But here’s the catch the general public can’t see it. Only employees who work in the government center can see it on the second floor.
