Camp Lejeune Marine to be charged after high-speed chase


ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Highway Patrol says a Camp Lejeune Marine will be charged after he took troopers on a high-speed motorcycle chase with speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.

Trooper Matos said Robert Burke, 21, was driving a motorcycle more than 100 miles per hour when a trooper tried to pull him over on the U.S. 17 bypass in Onslow County Saturday.

Officials said Burke was apprehended on Gould Road near Pony Farm Road around 3:45 p.m.
