Camp Lejeune to hold live fire training and exercises
CAMP LEJEUNE, NC (WWAY) – If you hear gunfire near Camp Lejeune on Sunday, there’s a reason why. From 7:00 a.m. until noon, there will be a live fire and maneuver exercise aboard Camp Lejeune.
The exercise will include aircraft, artillery, mortar and naval gunfire.
According to a news release, the exercise will support training of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and has received approval from II Marine Expeditionary Force and the Commanding General, Marine Corps Installations East- Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
The release states that the community’s patience and understanding is appreciated as the base strives to provide the best possible training experience for our nation’s Marines and Sailors.
