Can New Hanover secure a spot in the 4-A football state championship game?
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Can the New Hanover Wildcats secure a spot in the 4-A state championship game? For that to happen they’ll have to beat Greenville Rose High School on Friday in a 7:30 showdown at Legion Stadium. “Looking back at Friday night against Hillside we feel like we played a complete game,” New Hanover head coach Earl Smith told WWAY on Monday. “Darrell Raynor, our offensive coordinator and Tim Smith, our defensive coordinator, had great game plans. That together with our kicking game. You get to this stage of the game, the eastern championship, it gives you an opportunity to play for the state championship so we’ll take it one game at a time and hopefully that’ll take care of itself.”
Tickets for the New Hanover vs. Greenville Rose football game will be pre-selling in the NHHS Library. This will begin Tuesday, Dec 1st and run through Friday Dec. 4th from 8:15 – 3:30 daily. Tickets will pre-sell for $7.00 and will be $8.00 at the gate Friday night. Winner plays for the 4-A state championship @ Wake Forest – BB&T Field on Saturday, Dec. 12th @ 8:05 p.m.
