WILMINGTON, NC — Cape Fear Community College has become the new home of the NCWorks Career Center, following the awarding of a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Title I grant from the Cape Fear Workforce Development Board.

Through the grant, CFCC will administer adult and dislocated worker services in New Hanover and Pender counties, taking over duties previously handled by the NCWorks office on 17th Street in Wilmington.

The NCWorks Career Center at CFCC’s Downtown Wilmington Campus offers a variety of services including career guidance, job search support, access to training programs, certifications, and apprenticeships. It also assists with resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation, and provides labor market information and career exploration tools. Visitors can access the NCWorks online system and participate in job fairs, hiring events, and workshops.

The main center at CFCC’s Downtown Campus (G Building) is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional NCWorks locations include the Burgaw Center, open Mondays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with appointments available other days, and the Surf City Center, open Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with appointments by request.

The move aims to streamline workforce development services and enhance access for residents seeking employment assistance and career advancement opportunities across the region.
