Cape Fear Community College to host marine technology career fair

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College will host a Marine Technology Career Fair on Thursday, Feb. 13, from noon to 3 p.m. in the L Building on the college’s downtown Wilmington campus.
According to a CFCC news release, the event will feature more than 20 employers from the marine technology and related industries, offering attendees a chance to explore career opportunities, network with industry professionals, and learn about the growing marine technology sector.
Job seekers will have the opportunity to connect with representatives from leading organizations in marine engineering, environmental monitoring, and oceanographic research. Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes and be prepared to network with hiring managers.
“We are excited to host this career fair and connect students and job seekers with opportunities in the thriving field of marine technology,” CFCC President Jim Morton said in the release. “As a coastal community, our region offers abundant opportunities in this industry, making events like this essential for building strong connections between talented individuals and local employers.”
Some of the employers scheduled to attend include Norfolk Dredging, UNCW Oceanography, McKim & Creed, Weeks Marine, Fugro, Measurtronics, NV5 Geospatial, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, NC Division of Marine Fisheries, NC A&T Geomatics Program, Cape Fear Public Utility Authority, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, N. SEA. Oyster Co., SANDBAR Oyster Company, USGS SAWSC, and TI Coastal Services.
The career fair is open to CFCC students, alumni, and the general public.
