WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Nightly lane closures to prepare for upcoming work on the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge will not take place Tuesday night.

The NCDOT made the announcement hours before the lane closures were set to begin at 7:00 p.m., citing rain as the reason.

Each night since January 11th, lanes on the bridge have been shut down from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

These lane closures are planned through January 28th.

The closures are expected to resume Wednesday night.
