Cape Fear Memorial Bridge project still on schedule despite weather delays, NCDOT says

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Work on the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge was paused for a day on Monday due to windy and rainy conditions, but that hasn’t impacted the completion deadline, according to officials.
“There isn’t much cushion in the schedule, but the schedule remains the same. We will keep the public updated on any changes,” NCDOT officials said.
Plans call for the inbound lane work will wrap up by March 31st. The bridge will then reopen during the NC Azalea Festival.
On April 9th, lanes heading into Brunswick County will close.
The goal is to have all work completed by May 23rd.
