Cape Fear Museum offers free Summer Pop Up events

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Children and families in the community have the chance to learn about weather wonders at Summer Pop Up: Weather Wonders at the Cape Fear Museum.

The Summer Pop Up series at the museum is designed to engage visitors in the new Cape Fear Museum Park.

This week, activities at Summer Pop Up: Weather Wonders include making a cloud in a bottle, playing with airzookas to learn about air pressure, and making bracelets that react to UV light.

“Anyone can come to the Pop Up,” Museum Educator Pepper Hill said. “We like to engage our neighbors, especially, and we love to have people just walk over to the museum, and engage in the park any time, not only during the Pop Ups but any time during the day.”

The Summer Pop Ups are free and lessons change every week. The Pop Ups happen twice a day at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The events last for about 30 minutes.
