Cape Fear River Watch hosting oyster roast fundraiser this weekend

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear River Watch will host its second annual oyster roast fundraiser, Sip and Shuck, on Sunday, March 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Alley in The Cargo District.
The event will feature oysters cultivated by the University of North Carolina Wilmington Shellfish Hatchery. Organizers say the oysters will be prepared by Cape Fear Riverkeeper Kemp Burdette, accompanied by locally brewed beers from Mad Mole Brewing and The Alley, as well as live music from The Noseeums.
Tickets are $75 per person, which includes 20 oysters, two locally crafted beers, and the music. Organizers say tickets are limited, noting that last year’s event sold out. Proceeds will support Cape Fear River Watch’s efforts to monitor and improve water quality along the Cape Fear River.
Sip and Shuck is sponsored by Crafted Outpost and The Alley.
Tickets are available here.
