Carolina Beach Boardwalk construction to begin next Tuesday

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The historic Carolina Beach Boardwalk has been an icon in the beach community for more than eighty years.

Coming up next week, the boardwalk is set to expand.

After the project was put off this past March, the original plans to expand the boardwalk will begin on Tuesday.

The boardwalk is set to be expanded to nearly double the size of the current one.

The walk will extend from where it currently ends on Harper Avenue to the Pelican Lane public beach access.

The extension is projected to finish sometime this coming February.
