Carolina Beach grocery store hit by vehicle in accident
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A grocery store in Carolina Beach was hit by a vehicle in an accident on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
A Carolina Beach Police spokesman says an elderly man was attempting to park outside The Sea Merchants store on Cape Fear Blvd. around 7 p.m. when he accidentally hit the gas pedal, crashing into the store.
No one was injured.
Police say the man was not impaired, but he was given an unsafe movement violation.
There is no word yet if the damage to the store will impact their business hours.
